Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino recently embarked on their first tour together this past March 22nd, proving themselves as a powerful force of combined musical prowess and genuine friendship.  They had shared the stage before in different formats and are currently members of bands The Nth Power (Nick Cassarino) and Trey Anastasio Band (Jennifer Hartswick).  As you can imagine, their soulful sensibilities and musical mastery make magic on the stage.

Jennifer is a trumpeter, vocalist, composer, lyricist and educator, who is an original member of Trey Anastasio Band – and the master of the sit-in.  She shines remarkably when taking improvisational roles and sharing the stage with other musicians, such as Dave Matthews, Aaron Neville, Herbie Hancock, Big Gigantic, and more.  Born to a musical family in Burlington, VT, Hartswick quickly developed a passion for jazz which has been driving her ever since.

Nick Cassarino has a set of pipes on him as well, and is also from Burlington, VT, like Jennifer, and has played in gospel bands growing up as well as in New York. The Nth Power was actually born out of Jazz Fest and the band combines these New Orleans and New York flavors.  Nick is no stranger to sit-ins himself, and will be playing in an all-star tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire at Jazz Fest with greats such as Oteil Burbridge, Skerik, Natalie Cressman, and of course Jennifer Hartswick.

The duo has had undeniable chemistry for years, so for them to finally come together on an official tour is a musical experience you do not want to miss!

Pearl Street Warehouse, the venue, was developed by Nicholas Fontana, Bruce Gates, and Henry Gandy, principals and founders of Cantina Marina, a DC waterfront dock bar and restaurant that’s been a fixture on the Southwest Waterfront for over 14 years. It only makes sense that they would cultivate a music venue that’s only a five minute walk from the Waterfront metro stop, that offers great food drinks.  Diner fare like burgers, sandwiches and creative takes on tater tots like Viet-tots will be available to snack on during the show.  It’s a great opportunity for a casual evening out in an intimate setting, perfect for a Tuesday night Spring evening!
