Hello Readers! There are a lot of great events and performances this week to choose from.   If you haven’t made plans but want to get out, here’s what’s up.

Grab your camping gear and head over Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA for a weekend of fun at The Peach Music Festival.  Performing acts include Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band, Gov’t Mule, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and many more excellent artists.  If you’re planning to spend the whole weekend, get your tickets A.S.A.P. The longer you wait, the higher the price will be.  Make sure to keep in mind that camping is not included in the admission price, and parking will also cost a bit more (the more people in your car, the less you’ll pay for parking). Check out http://www.thepeachmusicfestival.com for more info, and to get your tickets.

Get ready for Brokedown Floatdown this weekend at Sleepy Creek on the Potomac in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.  The majority of festivities will be going on all day Saturday; however, you may arrive as early as 4 p.m. Friday to get a primo camp site and enjoy a pre-festival bonfire party.  Head on down to the river Saturday morning for the float contest; come prepared with your own custom float, or just hang out and watch he the spectacle.  Don’t stress about bringing your young ones, there will be multiple play areas designated for kids.  Admission price includes camping, parking, and access to festival shuttle.  Save yourself a few dollars and buy your tickets online. $50 for the full experience, $40 for just Saturday and Sunday. Don’t forget your swim suit! Visit https://www.sleepycreekpresents.com/floatdown to answer any questions you might have.

The Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance will be held this weekend at the Trumansburg Fairgrounds in Trumansburg, New York.  Enjoy a weekend full of family friendly fun, workshops, food & craft vendors, healing arts and yoga, musical creation and much, much more.  See live performances from Donna the Buffalo, Toots and the Maytals, Driftwood, The Wood Brothers, Seratones and several other national and local acts. 4-day admission, if you buy your tickets in advance, is $125. Camping and parking will cost upwards of $95 depending on what package you decide upon.  Visit https://www.grassrootsfest.org/ to learn more and purchase tickets.

If you haven’t the time or funds to head to a festival, there are still plenty of great performances going on elsewhere.  Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band will be at CMAC in Canandaigua, NY Saturday 7/21, and Levon Holmes Studio in Woodstock, New York the following evening. The Original Wailers will be bringing the good vibes to Manhattan Square Park in New York this Thursday (7/19). Also, consider checking out the San Francisco based psychedelic blues-rock band Howlin’ Rain this Friday at The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, or Saturday night (07/22) at MOTR Pub in Cincinnati, OH.
