The Kind Thieves, a psychedelic bluegrass band from Appalachia, will be releasing their first studio album Many A Thief this Saturday November 4th!  This band of 8 from Beckley, WV, shows their passion for music through songwriting full of heart and energy, and finally collected songs they’ve been playing over the past two years into this debut full-length album.

The album was recorded at Harmonics House in Murfreesboro, TN, and all of the members of the band contributed their own creative input and style.  The band members all individually do some songwriting and often write songs on their own, then bring them to the rest of the band to collaborate.  The album manages to be cohesive with a wildly diverse charm.  Something unique about the collection Colby Elswick (guitar, dobro, banjo, vocals) says of the project, is “hardly any of the songs stick to any certain theme lyrically or stylistically.” Sound intriguing?  That’s part of The Kind Thieves’ eclectic fashion.

You can hear for yourself when they perform the album in their entirety during their album release party this Saturday.  They’ll be playing The Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre (8PM), in Beckley, WV, which “is the nicest theatre in our area, and we wanted to do this particular show in an upscale venue.”  It’s sure to be quite the occasion, with Buddhagraph Spaceship and Culture Thief as support, who are close friends of the band and incredible musicians themselves.  There will also be an after-party at 10PM at Melody’s on Neville St in Beckley.  When asked if there would be any surprises, Colby says “You’ll have to come to find out…”
