Greetings, readers! February is in the books and March is upon us; which brings us one step closer to warm weather.  This week we’ve got another awesome list of concerts and events to help put some boogie in your life.  Not sure of what to do or where to go? No problem! We’ve got you covered! Here’s what’s up this week.

Whether you’re out for the last night of eating and drinking before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season or just looking for some crazy kooks to share a good time with, Mardi Gras is arguably one of the best parties of the year.  Because not all of us can make the pilgrimage to the mecca of said celebration–New Orleans–plenty of good folks are bringing the carnival vibes to a venue near you.  Join New Orleans natives, Cowboy Mouth, and Eric Lindell for a Fat Tuesday celebration at Hill Country D.C in Washington, DC.  Cowboy Mouth has been in the game since the ‘90’s, with over 2,500 concerts under their belt.  They have long since created a reputation for being a rambunctious, infectious, and high-spirited live act that is sure to make you move your feet. Eric Lindell has been labeled by many as a one-of-a-kind musician, who writes music that is both surprisingly new and strangely familiar at the same time.  Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-year opportunity! Get your tickets now before the are gone.

The Motet has teamed up with No BS! Brass Band for a string of shows to keep the carnival vibes going strong all week, as we fight through tail end of winter and march forward into (hopefully) warmer weather.  The Motet is made up of Dave Watts on drums, Joey Porter on keys, Garret Sayers on bass, Drew Sayers on saxophone, Ryan Jalbert on Guitar, Parris Fleming on trumpet, and Lyle Divinsky on vocals.  Their funk, soul, improvisational music has been inspiring listeners for over two decades! No BS! Brass Band is in the business of providing high energy, make-you-wanna-dance music that has the spirit of New Orleans combined with East Coast funky flavors. Check this dynamic duo out this week at Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, NC (03/07), The National in Richmond, VA (03/08), and 9:30 Club in Washington, DC (03/08).

Last, but not least, this Sunday marks a very special event for everyone at The Jamwich.  Join artists, friends, family and many more at Town Run Tap House in Shepherdstown, WV for Strength of Strings “Boogie for Elise.”  Elise and her husband, Taco, are both pillars within the community, and have given much more than their fair share. They, like all of us from at one point or another, are in need of a little help from their friends.  Join them this Sunday for all-day event with live music, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and much more.  Donations will be accepted at the event. Please be gracious.  Check out the event’s facebook page to learn more.

As always, be sure to keep scrolling down to see the entire list of this week’s hottest concerts.  Let us know which shows you’re going to, and please feel free to leave your own suggestions in the comment section.
