One nation, under a groove, getting down, just for the funk of it. A royal gathering
of funk and groove will be assembling this Thursday evening in Charlotte, NC. George
Clinton and his noble allies of Parliament and the Funkadelic’s will be spreading some
disco fever at the Fillmore. This is a legendary group of crazy cats one should definitely
catch if given the chance. Do not miss this show!

Heading up the east coast to Washington D.C., Gypsy Sally’s will be hosting
Psycho Killers: A Tribute to Talking Heads this Saturday evening. This sounds like a
groovy time if you are in the area. Come on down and shake your booty to some
fantastic artists showing their love for another all-time great band.
Also happening this Friday and Saturday is a two night run in Covington,
Kentucky with the living legends of Papadosio. Last year around this time they
celebrated their 10 th anniversary as a band and performed one of their most legendary
shows, including for the first time a set list chosen entirely by the fans. I am sure that the
boys will not disappoint as they are preparing for their second headlining Red Rocks
show taking place the following weekend. I will be at all three of these shows, so make
sure to come say hi and be ready for more hugs from the fam than you can handle!

Our Jamwich friends over at Jibberjazz Productions are putting on Some Kind of
Jam 12 this weekend as in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. This intimate grassroots
festival will be presenting some familiar and rising artists in the jam community you may
have yet to hear of. New Orleans Jazz Fest is also kicking off this Friday for its
week long event. This festival pays homage to the all-time greats, and often provides live
streams, so keep your eye’s peeled couch-tour- ers.

Next week the trance talking jammers of The Xx will be making several stops in
the Midwest, including one at Jacobs Pavilion in Cleveland on May 3 rd . This is the first
show of the season at this beautiful outdoor venue, so get the flip flops out and get
ready to jam! With their third album release earlier this year, The Xx is sure to bring a
repertoire of smash hits. See you there!
