The festival proudly supports Chakulla and supports its hunger relief efforts. Chakulla, affectionately known as “Grandfather Chakulla,” is a Florida-based folk/world/jazz artist dedicated to fighting hunger for over 40 years. The festival encourages all attendees to get involved by contributing non-perishable food donations. These donations will go towards Chakulla’s “Hunger Bus,” which then takes the donated food directly to recipients such as food banks, food pantries, and shelters. Chakulla’s decades of activism and hunger relief work inspire the festival’s community engagement initiatives. By supporting Chakulla’s Hunger Bus and donating non-perishable foods, attendees can uphold his spirit of giving and make a tangible difference for those struggling with food insecurity across Florida.
