Hello Readers! The summer nights are getting shorter and shorter, but the good vibes are only getting stronger.  There are still tons of great festivals and concerts in the region this week. Here’s what’s up.

Come get your soul shined this weekend in Green Mountain, North Carolina at the Soulshine Farm Music Festival. Enjoy both local and regional bluegrass, blues and funk acts, such as The Larry Keel Experience, Town Mountain, Particle, Love Cannon and Broccoli Samurai.  The Soulshine Farm, located in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, boasts 100 acres of pristine land to enjoy throughout the weekend: hike challenging trails, play in the Toe River, hang out on Meditation Rock, or stay cool at your campsite in the Pines.  No free entry for children, however, you’ll save a bit of money with camping being included in your general admission ticket.  Discounted tickets are still on sale, and will be until this Wednesday, at which point “last call” prices will go into effect. Buy now to save yourself a few bucks. No alcohol will be sold on site, so make sure to bring your own if you wish to partake. Just remember: no glass containers and drink responsibly.  Check out www.soulshinefarmfest.com to learn more and purchase your tickets.

Shadefest will take place this weekend at Pegasus Farm in Elkins, West Virginia, nestled in the Allegheny Mountains.  A once small gathering of friends, Shadefest has been constantly evolving since its inception many years ago.  This is the festivals first year at Pegasus Farm, a move that was made to ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for all: amenities have been enhanced, an entire stage added, showers and RV hookups are now available, and there’s even a fishing pond and creek.  Music for the weekend is set to include TAUK, Consider the Source, The Southern Belles, CBDB, Brokedown Hustlers, The Clock Reads, and many more.  Come share in the spirit of camaraderie this weekend at Shadefest!  Check out www.shadefest.com for more info, check out recap videos of previous years’ festivities, and to purchase tickets.

If you missed out the Jerry Garcia celebrations last week, don’t fear, the celebrations will be continuing all throughout August.  This week consider checking out the veteran Dead cover band, Cosmic Charlie, this Friday at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC.

Phish

Phish will be town to help us party down this week, with shows in Raleigh, NC and Columbia, MD.  Tickets for Friday night at Walnut Creek are still available through Phish’s official website (www.phish.com), as well as for the Sunday night show at Merriweather Post Pavilion (Saturday night is currently sold out).  Phish’s 3-day festival at Watkins Glenn International, as well at their 3-night run at Dick’s Sport Good’s Park are all sold out: if you want to float with the flock these are your last chance to do so, at least until fall tour. Also, be sure to check out Pink Talking Phish, nearby at The Soundry, Saturday and Sunday nights after the Phish concerts.
