Get your Christmas spirit on a few days early! Join Brahctopus at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA on December 23rd for a fun-filled, funky night. Lots of artists are featured on the lineup, as well as live painting and art on display! You won’t want to miss this holiday kick-off celebration. We got to talk to Brahctopus about this event and their involvement.

Tell me a little bit about Brahctopus. How long have you been a band, where are you from, and what kind of music do you play?

Brahctopus is a group of young adept musicians hailing from the river banks of Pittsburgh, PA. We’ve been gigging for a little over two years now, constantly writing original music and have recently been doing some regional touring. The band sends a jammy psychedelic vibe with reggae undertones.

Is this the first year you are doing Feliz Navibrah and what inspired you to create this event?

This is our first year hosting Feliz Navibrah. We were asked to do a holiday show by Opus One Productions, a premier production company in the Pittsburgh music community. We called the event Feliz Navibrah simply because we think it’s hilarious. Then again, we find humor in almost anything that’s a play on words.

How did you link up with Opus One Productions and GareFest?

We’ve been doing events with Opus One for a few years now before Brahctopus was even a thought. We’ve all had music backgrounds with other bands in the years prior and it we were very fortunate to already have the connection with them when Brahctopus was formed. GareFest is a music festival and campout that our frontman, Ethan Kovalcik, started about five years ago with our great friend GareBear. All the bands and artists on this event are affiliates of the GareFest community.

Who curated the lineup of bands?

Ethan curated the lineup of bands choosing from some of our hottest GareFest acts for this frosty event. The lineup includes: Brahctopus, Stationary Pebbles, Heavy Chest, Littlegoodbad and Different Dan & the Rhythm Jesus.

What other fun activities will there be besides the music?

The music is just where this event begins. Between musical acts you can catch comedic performances from Scott Israel and Izzy Rhue. We will also have live painting from Steve Pearce, Incoguido, Lisa Ann and some other great Pittsburgh visual artists. In addition there will be a bake sale, eggnog specials and of course ugly sweaters!

Tell me a little bit about the venue, Club Cafe.

Club Café is an intimate venue, a long time staple of Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood. The venue hosts local, national and international acts of all genres. Definitely a must stop venue!

Why can we definitely not miss this event?

With all the amazing bands, fun activities and delicious drinks and delicatessen; you definitely do not want to miss Feliz Navibrah! This event is to bring together creatives of all forms and show the community a happy and safe environment to celebrate the holidaze!
