At last, it’s time to gather your tribe, pack the car and head back to the magic forest for the return of Suwannee Roots Revival at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak Florida. Music lovers have been yearning for this day and it may be the first music festival they have attended since the onset of Covid-19. Roots has a long history of bringing people together to experience community, art, dancing, and music, and this year should be especially entrancing. This is a wonderful event for lovers of Bluegrass and Americana music. It will be a memorable experience for anyone hungry for a musical pilgrimage. It will fill the void many of us have felt since March 2020 and it will also help heal us from the time spent in isolation. This is the perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of Florida and benefit from the peace that comes from the shores of the Suwannee River. Suwannee Roots Revival will take place October 14th – 17th 2021.

The lineup is strong this year! It includes many of the longtime staples such as Donna The Buffalo, Nicki Talley, The Grass is Dead, and Quartermoon. This will be a great event for those who love progressive bluegrass and those who admire the craft of songwriting. This year’s headliners include Grammy-award-winning quintet The Infamous String Dusters as well as New Grass pioneer Sam Bush, Keller and The Keels, and the legendary Peter Rowan and The Free Mexican Airforce.

Roots Revival is unique because it takes place on a camping resort. It is far from roughing it. Some partake in their own versions of glamping. Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park sits on 800 acres of forest and is famous for its towering live oaks and majestic cypress trees. Not only is the scenery unforgettable but the park offers every amenity you can imagine. There are multiple shower houses situated throughout the campground, there is a restaurant called the SOS Cafe, there is a general store, golf cart rental, and a canoe livery. The vendor area is usually a convenient spot to have a snack and pick out a gift for your friends back home. Primitive camping is included with general admission tickets. However, there are full RV hookups available by reservation as well as cabins and even an A-frame treehouse available to rent. You can also camp with your horse! So whether you are a barebones camper or you require more creature comforts Spirit of the Suwannee has the accommodations for everyone.

The park is famous for being a picker’s paradise. It’s true, you’ll hear just as much music in the campgrounds as you will from the stage. It’s common for many of the bands to have impromptu jam sessions for the sheer joy of it out in the primitive camping areas. The pickers that attend Roots Revival are known to pick quite literally all day and night and usually invite other musicians to join in the fun. So bring your instrument and share your songs with the Suwannee family.
