Hello Readers! Here’s what’s up this week!
Papadosio will be gracing us with their presence for two music-filled evenings at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York. Accompanying them on tour currently is the increasingly popular groove-rock band Aqueous. Come join in on the fun this Friday and Saturday and the Brooklyn Bowl. You can also catch Papadosio and Aqueous throughout the week in Philadelphia, PA, on Wednesday, Asbury Park, NJ, on Thursday, or New Haven, CT, this Sunday. Be sure to check out both band’s websites for more information regarding future tour dates this spring.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have a few performances in the region this week. The band will start the week with a performance at The State Theatre in Pennsylvania this Wednesday. Thursday evening the band will be in Rochester, New York, and Friday they will return to Pennsylvania for a performance at The Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg. Opening for Pigeons each night this week will be the progressive-electronica/funk band Broccoli Samurai. In other bird related news, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong were just added to the LOCKN’ festival line up. If you are interested in grabbing tickets, they go on sale this Friday. Don’t wait too long! Tickets are bound to sell out quickly.
Also playing a couple of shows (hopefully) near you this week is the Kyle Hollingsworth Band. Hollingsworth is best known for his role as keyboardist in the Boulder based jam band String Cheese Incident. In 2007, he started his solo project when SCI cut back on their intense touring schedule. On March 2nd he will release of his fourth solo album. The new album is to be titled “50” and marks Hollingsworth’s 50th birthday. The band will be playing at the Brooklyn Bowl with the alternative-rock band Big Something this Wednesday, at Funk ‘n Waffles Music Hall in Rochester, NY on Friday, and Funk ‘n Waffles Downtown in Syracuse on Saturday.
