This week there are chances to not only see live music but play your own live music as well! Stop by Gypsy Sally’s in Washington D.C. for the Gypsy Sally Jam presented by Gordon Sterling.  Amps and drums provided. Bring your instrument, place your name in a hat, and wait for your chance to join a randomly selected group of musicians on stage.  Learn some new licks, meet some faces, and have a jammin’ good time!

Papadosio is making stops in South Carolina this week for a few performances.  Check them out Thursday night with Brooks Dixon Band at The Firmament in Greenville. If you can’t make the Thursday night show, they will be at the Music Farm in Charleston for a 2-night run; Friday night with Schema, and Saturday night with Terraphonics.

LITZ is here with a few shows to fill your night with sonic adventure.  Come jam out with the band this Thursday at Doc Taylor’s Seaside Market Lounge in Virginia Beach, VA, Friday at the Asheville Music Hall in Asheville, NC and Saturday at Cattivo in Lawrenceville, PA.

Spend the weekend with your best friends in Stephentown, New York for four days of music, camping, and disc golf at the 8th annual Disc Jam.  Enjoy music from Lotus, Beats Antique, The Motet, and many more.  Centrally located, and close to major cities like Boston, Providence, Hartford, it’s hard to find a reason not to make your way to Disc Jam.  Spend your time playing disc golf (tournaments Saturday and Sunday), buying crafts and food from the friendly vendors, doing yoga, learning at the several workshops being offered, having fun at the hula hoop playground, or relaxing in the evening at one of the community bonfires. Don’t forget to bring your discs!

Sadly this year will be the final year of Rootwire Transformational Arts Festival, so it’s more important than ever to attend and participate.  Since it’s conception Rootwire has been the poster child for transformational festivals that emphasize arts and workshops as much as their always stellar musical lineup.  This weekend June 7-10, the festival will take place in Wisteria in Pomeroy, OH, with an exciting lineup including Minnesota, Phutureprimitive, and an exclusive mid-west “Jumpsuit Records Showcase” from The Polish Ambassador and The Diplomatic Scandal. Of course it would not be Rootwire without the workshops, including sound and vibrational healing, yoga, meditation, art and creativity, personal development and more.  Being part of the Opening Intention Setting at Rootwire has always been one of the most special ways to participate at any festival I’ve been to.  Everyone truly shows up with their hearts open and their smile wide.  Take part in the closing of this Rootwire chapter this year, you will be glad you did.

Bless the Woods will be held this weekend in Fairplay, Maryland. Bless the Woods is a micro-benefit festival that fundraises for the National Capital Lyme Disease Association promotes general Lyme Disease awareness.  Scheduled acts include Elementree Livity, Mudcracker, Trevor Davis, Invikta and the slim jimmies. No hour-long lines here, and enjoy getting to know people instead of being pushed around in giant crowds. Come out for a good time and good cause this weekend at Bless the Woods.
