Hello Readers!

If you find your ear’s wanting some Grateful Dead, there are plenty of options this week to help satisfy your cravings.  John Kadlecik Band and Melvin Seals & JGB continue to tour throughout the region this week North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania.  Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will be playing this Thursday in Syracuse, and Friday in Albany. Dead Alliance Buffalo will play this Sunday in Buffalo, New York, and the band Deadgrass plays this Saturday in Saratoga Springs. Also, Phil Lesh will be at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York this week for three consecutive nights of music with The Terrapin Family Band.  Steve Winwood will be sitting in with Lesh and the band for the first of the three shows.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead

Woodlands Tavern in Columbus. Ohio is hosting “St.Fatty’s Daze,” offering two nights of music from many of our favorite bands, such as Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Broccoli Samurai, ekoostic hookah, and Electric Orange Peel.  $30 gets you access both Friday and Saturday night, otherwise tickets are $20 for each individual evening.

Dumpstaphunk, one of the funkiest bands to come out of New Orleans, will be layin’ down the funk this week at the 8×10 in Baltimore this Tuesday, the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia on Saturday, and The Broadberry in Richmond, VA. on Sunday.  Keyboardist Ivan Neville formed the band in 2003 with his cousin and guitarist, Ian Neville. Nick Daniels III and Tony Hall were called upon the duel it out on stage with their bass guitars, and Alvin Ford Jr. ties it all together on drums. In 2014 OffBeat Magazine and Gambit Weekly voted Dumpstaphunk “New Orleans ‘Best Funk Band.” Come see what all the fuss is about. We dare you not to dance!

Other notable performance this week include:  Widespread Panic at The Theatre at MGM National Harbor in National Harbor, MD. this Thursday and Friday, Keller Williams at the Capitol Room in Harrisburg, PA. this Saturday, and Big Something at Martin’s Downtown in Roanoke, VA. also this Saturday.
