As the music festival season is slowly coming to an end we look forward to what the future brings us and how a new year and new experiences will shape our lives.  For me,Resonance Music and Arts festival is a staple that marks the end of summer with a big blow out at one of my favorite venues Ohio has to offer.

The music festival had its debut last year at Frontier Ranch in Pataskala, Ohio and brought musical acts such as Papadosio, Dopapod, Twiddle, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Greensky Bluegrass, and special guest appearances by the Ohio All Star crew featuring members from The Werks.  As the festival makes a move to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio this year, you can expect a bigger and better experience.  Legend Valley is home to many music festivals throughout the year, hosting Dark Star Jubilee and The Werk Out Music Festival.  With much more land for festival goers to pick their favorite campsites, Legend Valley is special in the sense that no matter where you are on the festival grounds you can hear the music from nearly every campsite.

As I look forward to this year’s Resonance Music Festival, I reminisce on last year’s experience — the enthusiasm and uplifting energy Nahko brought to the stage, and how almost everyone in the crowd was singing along, crying tears of joy and happiness.  Not only will Nahko be back with multiple sets this year but the festival line up is one that surely will not disappoint.   Dopapod will be returning and playing three nights of music, along with Papadosio, TAUK, Peridoni, and The Main Squeeze all playing two sets.  First time Resonance artists this year include the lovely ladies of Rising Appalachia, the funky jams from Perpetual Groove, The Heard, and Andy Frasco and the U.N. The music festival also features many live artists and workshops for festival goers to enjoy.  While workshops can range anywhere from Vinyasa yoga flow (to get the body moving through concentration on breath movement), expression sessions through clay art, burning boxes to help teach about emotional release, to meditation sessions.  The Symbiosis gallery always brings some of the most talented artists into the light and provides fun interactive activities and late night jams for the night owls that just can’t get enough.

So, as fall descends upon us and turns to winter wonders come finish out your summer with us at Resonance Music and Arts Festival for a weekend of live music, art, and fun.  See you in the valley.
