Hey now!

The sixth annual Dark Star Jubilee will return to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio on Memorial Day weekend, May 26th, 27th, and 28th.

All Good presents a promising lineup with three full two-set shows by Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra, and featuring acts Greensky Bluegrass, Hot Tuna (x2), Keller Williams Kwahtro, David Nelson Band, Twiddle, Tauk, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Jeff Mattson & Friends,Owsley County, Matt Reynolds, and Like Father, Like Son.

Festival host band, Dark Star Orchestra, is currently on Spring Tour, celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band. I had the pleasure of catching their show in Greensboro. I left swooning with joy for Dark Star Jubilee.

The concise lineup boasts a honorable collection of rock, and jam music’s greatest. Festival attendees will get two servings of Hot Tuna, one acoustic set and one electric set. Keller Williams Kwahtro will bring the foot-groovin’ acoustic dance music vibes. Lead guitarist of DSO, Jeff Mattson, will be joined by fellow musicians Rob Barraco, Lisa Mackey, Skip Vangelas, and Tom Barraco.

It’s been one year since DSO members Rob Barraco, Rob Eaton and their sons Tom Barraco, and Rob Eaton Jr.  debuted their band “Like Father, Like Son” during Jubliee. The family fused band will share the spotlight again this year, creating a truly unforgettable experience for family and fans alike.

The Dead family seeds were sown on Legend Valley years ago. Formerly known as Buckeye Lake Music Center, the venue has hosted the Grateful Dead and 70,000+ of their fans in one of the most remarkable turnouts of that 1988 tour.

Lightly forested areas and rolling hills envelope the intimate campground, and concert bowl of Legend Valley. This is a place where strangers become neighbors in a moments time and lifelong bonds blossom overnight.

I am eager to return to Legend Valley this May for my first Dark Star Jubilee. I’ve heard many wonderful things about Jubilee and the community that surrounds it. I will be working with the lovely Mongo Arts family on vendor row so come say hi and have your picture taken for the Jamwich!
