fl3It was a great night for a show at the Moustrap Bar and Grill Friday, October 4th in Indianapolis, Indiana. There was a great turn out of people on the unseasonaly warm Fall night at The Mousetrap Bar and Grill, a great little venue just east of Indianapolis. Hosting local music almost every weekend, it is one of the oldest bars in town, and there is always a great gathering of people who love to support their local Mid-west music scene.

It was a stacked line up that Friday night with music going from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Local DJ Manic Focus opened, but the group that I came to see was The Floozies. This brotherly duo came all the way from Kansas to throw down a great Friday night party.  Matt and Mark Hill make a great team with their forward moving electronic beats mixed with guitar riffs, drum solos, and familiar tunes. These two have a great stage presence, you can tell they enjoy every note they play and every smiling face they see in the crowd. On this tour they are promoting their newest album, “At Dusk We Launch.”They played quite a few songs from this new album as well as a neat little electronic cover of Toto‘s “Africa”.

After a two hour set, somehow the crowd was begging for more. Maybe it is the smile the brothers had from ear to ear, the charismatic stage presence, or the awesome electronic beats, but I can tell you one thing, they won their place in Indianapolis’s heart this weekend.
