Greetings, readers! Hopefully everyone is having a warm and safe start to the holiday season.  Don’t get stuck inside for too long, though. Get out as much as possible and stay connected with the world! Here are a few suggestions to help get your mind on the right track.

Not a fan of the cold weather? No problemo!  Pack your bags and head down south to Causeway Cove Marina in Fort Pierce, Florida for Cosmic Barley Beer & Music Fest.   The party kicks off Friday evening with a beerfest that will feature 30 local breweries and distilleries. Purchasing a ticket to the beerfest means getting a free commemorative tasting glass, and unlimited samples until 10p.m. (you must purchase a “beerfest” specific ticket to gain access to this service). Live music starts Friday night at 6p.m. and will run until around 11p.m.  Saturday will feature live music all day, with the first act going on stage at 11a.m. Tunes for the weekend will be provided by Grass is Dead, Unlimited Devotion, Moska Project, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Joe Marcinek Super Jam, and many more! Limited primitive camping sights are available, and will be assigned out on a first come, first serve basis. Several different ticketing options are available depending on what type of an experience you are looking for, but the basic weekend general admission (no beerfest)/camping bundle will cost about $65. Check out the event’s Facebook page to learn more.

Come out to join LITZ and friends as they close out their highly successful Infrared Tour with two nights of jamtastic music at The 8×10 in Baltimore, Maryland.  Friday night support will be provided by Cattulus and Sun & Rain, with Swift Technique and We The People stepping in Saturday night to open the show. Tickets are $15 a night, with a limited amount of two-day passes also available for $25.  Come hang out and be a part of one of the most memorable evenings of the entire tour!

Consider checking out these awesome tribute bands, and get a taste of the most influential sounds and moments of the scene’s history.  Start Making Sense, a Pennsylvania-based Talking Heads tribute that focuses on recreating specific stages of the band’s musical career, will play this Saturday at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA. They also will be playing later this month in Boston, MA, Cohoes, NY, Port Chester, NY, and Washington, D.C. Head over to band’s website to learn more. Pink Talking Fish, a hybrid tribute fusion act combines the works of Talking Heads, alongside that of Pink Floyd, as well as Phish.  The band states that “discovering connections is part of the fun:  Pink Floyd’s “On The Run” seamlessly fitting in the middle of the composition of Phish’s “You Enjoy Myself”.  Perfectly placing Phish’s “Sand” into the groove of Talking Head’s “Slippery People”…These ideas are the spirit behind Pink Talking Fish.” Check them out this Saturday at The Rex Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA, or later this month in New York City and Washington, D.C. Check out the band’s website to learn more

Keep your spirits high, and remember to please leave any suggestions in the comment section!  Until next week.
