Hello readers! This week our thoughts are with those in the Carolinas, who have found themselves at the will of a dangerous hurricane.  If you do end up going to a concert or festival this week, take a second to reflect on how lucky you are and consider sharing some of your good fortune with those who are in need. With that being said, here’s what’s up this week!

Grab your camping gear and make your way to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio this weekend for Resonance Music and Arts Festival.  The lineup for this one is stacked, with performances from Tipper, Papadosio, The Disco Biscuits, STS9, The Floozies, Emancipator, Keller Williams, Sunsquabi (The Jamwich featured musician of the month), Pink Talking Phish, TAUK, Aqueous, Big Something, LITZ, Peridoni, The Jauntee, Melvin Seals & JGB and more! Workshops will be offered all throughout the weekend. Learn about sound healing, color therapy, communication & connection, and break dancing.  If you’re into yoga, bring your mat; there will be group yoga sessions throughout each day too. Several visual and performance artists will be on-site as well, to help make the festival a full-sensory experience.  General admission weekend passes (Thu-Sun) are available on the official website for $195. Just Friday through Sunday is set at $165. Car camping in the lot is free, with the option of handing over an extra $100 to car-camp in the bowl.  To learn more visit http://www.resonancemusicfest.com

If you’re up for something a little different this weekend, consider checking out the Lovelight Yoga & Arts Festival at the Pearlstone Center in Reisterstown, Maryland.  Lovelight aims to “celebrate life with yoga, to create community, and to enlighten ourselves…one chant at a time.” The festival features over 40 workshops and yoga classes, swimming, hiking, canoeing, fire-dancing, bonfires, drum circles, and is great for families and children.  There are three stages with over 30 musicians and bands, including Krishna Das, Rising Appalachia, Living Light, Ajeet Kaur, Tina Malia, and Mark Karan.  Head over to https://www.lovelightfestival.com to get a full list of musicians, yogis, artists, and to secure your tickets now.

This Tuesday Gordon Sterling leads The Gypsy Sally’s Jam at Gypsy Sally’s in Washington, DC.  Pick an instrument, place your name in a hat, and get a shot and jamming it out on stage with an improvised group of musicians.  Venue provides amps and a drum kit. You only need to bring your instrument and a willingness to jam.

Be sure to review the more extensive list of shows and festivals for this week, which is provided below. Also, we encourage you to leave your own suggestions in the comment section!
