Critter Carnival features animals from local rescue & rehab charities plus circus performers, vendors & snacks

CHAPEL HILL, NC – On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the 4th annual Critter Carnival (formerly Furry Friends Festival) will be held at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill, NC from 10am to 2pm to raise money and awareness for numerous local animal rescue and rehabilitation charities. Many animals will be at the festival for people to meet, including owls, turtles, fawns, kittens, possums, raptors, snakes, birds of prey, adoptable puppies & dogs and much more.

The beneficiaries of the 2018 festival are 9 animal-related charities in Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake counties dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, cats, wildlife, farm animals, and exotic animals. Beneficiaries include Animal Resource Friends, CLAWS, Go Conscious Earth, Independent Animal Rescue, Little River Wildlife Rescue, Our Wild Neighbors, Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge (PFAR), Piedmont Wildlife Center, and Robinshood Wildlife Rescue, with more to be added.

Circus artists such as hula hoopers and stilt walkers will exhibit their amazing skills. There will be a Maple View Ice Cream truck, a lemonade stand, animal-related vendors, arts & crafts vendors, a digital photo booth with costumes, and an online silent auction with lots of great items.

“We’re excited that Critter Carnival keeps growing and now includes more charities and animals than ever,” says festival producer Paul Kerr. “We’re honored to help spread awareness of the important work these groups are doing.”
