What’s going on, Readers?  As the heat continues to rise, there are more and more opportunities to boogie down.  With festival season in full swing, where will you find yourself this weekend?  Having trouble deciding?  Here’s what’s up.

This weekend Sugarcube Productions will be hosting Yonderville Music and Arts Festival in Rixeyville, Virginia.  Come hang out at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoy the picturesque landscapes in an environment where imagination, diversity, and expression collide.  Enjoy daily group yoga sessions, family friendly camping, delicious food vendors, and awesome music. Performing acts include LITZ, Broccoli Samurai, Funk You, Shadow People and many more international, as well as local acts.  Feel free to bring your own food and drinks, just remember to clean up any messes you make, and no glass containers.  Kids under 12 may enter for free, but your four-legged friends must be left at home. Three-day, two-day and single day passes are available for purchase. Great Blue Heron Music Festival returns to the Heron Farm and Event Center in Sherman, New York for their 27th annual celebration.  Join Donna the Buffalo, The Felice Brothers, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, The Suitcase Junkets, The Gunpoets, Driftwood and many other great artists for an unforgettable weekend of awesome music, arts, and culture.  This festival features an extensive schedule of events to keep you, your family, and your friends busy throughout the weekend.  Music workshops, yoga, group meditation, kid and teen tents with a schedule of daily activities, are just some of what this festival has to offer.  Weekend passes are priced at $115. If you’ve yet to see the one man band: Zach Deputy, come share in the groove at one of his shows in the area this week.  Join like-minded music heads this Monday at Ocean Mist in Wakefield, RI, Friday at New York Pizza Pub (don’t be fooled by the name) in Nags Head, NC, and Saturday at Pop’s Farm in Axton, VA.  Deputy’s sound is full of positive vibes, and built with a strong sense of rhythm that makes you want to move your feet.

The Blues powerhouse Tedeschi Trucks Band will make their way through the area this week, hopefully with performances near you.  Check them out at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga, NY this Tuesday, Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, CT on Friday, Saturday at The Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH, and lastly at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA this Sunday to close out the week.
