The 8×10
This week kicks of Grateful April at The 8×10 every Wednesday, so be sure to get over the hump day with some of your favorite feel good tunes – this week Stewbone will be playing tribute. The 8×10 has tons of great music all week, including Magic Beans and Slow Lights on Friday April 6th, and reggae rock music with Higher Education, Stratus Fear, The Vibesman, and The Harbor Boys on Saturday April 7th.
Friday night get excited for The Mad Tea Party Jam at Bright Box in Winchester with We the People and LITZ! We are excited to welcome We The People to Mad Tea Party Jam for the first time, so come out and see what they’re all about, and of course hear some of your favorite funky LITZ tunes as well.
The Motet
There are plenty of great performances to choose from earlier on this week. We are particularly excited about Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino playing as a duo Tuesday April 3rd at Pearl St. Warehouse in Washington, DC. If you haven’t had a chance to yet, don’t miss your chance to see one of the most authentic Grateful Dead cover bands, Dark Star Orchestra. The group will be in Washington D.C. this Tuesday at The Hamilton and will also play at the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount, Virginia this Wednesday. The Denver-based funk/afro-beat/jazz band The Motet will also be touring the area earlier in the week. Catch the band at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. this Thursday, or check them out at Shaka’s Live in Virginia Beach, Virginia this Wednesday.
Lotus
This Thursday the instrumental, electronic jam band Lotus kicks off a two-night run at The Westcott Theatre in Syracuse, NY. These are some of the last few headline club shows before the summer festival seasons in upon us. Grab a two-day V.I.P. pass and get a chance to meet the band, plus get some extra merch and access to the “soundcheck party”. If you’d like to catch the band, but can’t make either Syracuse shows, try and get some tickets to their Saturday night show in Port Chester, New York at the Capitol Theatre. Special guests Muscle Tough will perform an opening set to get the crowd loose before Lotus graces the stage.
Papadosio will be in Asheville, North Carolina at The Orange Peel, also for a two-night run, this Friday and Saturday. Friday night features special guests The Broadcast, and Saturday night Higher Learning will take the opening slot. Two-night passes have already been sold out. Get your tickets fast if you plan on attending either of the two shows.
