The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida will be illuminated by thousands of spectacular lights and filled with hundreds of jaw dropping art installations all under the shade of Spanish Moss draped Cypress trees. Aside from the wondrous setting, the weekend is filled with a wide compass of music from TAUK, Space Jesus, Lettuce, Moon Taxi, Bassnectar, Big Something, Portugal The Man, The Nth Power,  Jon Stickley Trio, Aqueous, Run the Jewels, Acoustic Syndicate, The Disco Biscuits, Beats Antique and an amazing three nights of String Cheese Incident. There is plenty to enjoy throughout the weekend as the official Thursday night pre party kicks off with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Greensky Bluegrass, EOTO & Friends, Zach Deputy, Great Peacock and many more fill what is bound to be the best way to spend Halloween weekend.

Going to see music at Hulaween is unlike anything else you’re going to experience, and music is only half of the fun. The dilemma of choosing just one or two costumes to wear for Halloween is turned into making sure you have enough costumes throughout the epic weekend. Temperatures range from mid 40’s to mid 80’s and it does get dusty so be prepared with extra cozy costumes at night and lighter layered costumes during the day. There is no doubt about you seeing someone or something you have never heard of before, so keep an open mind to the infinite possibilities of creation. Free showers open all day and night are a much appreciated refreshment after you choose your own adventure. If your friends plan on heading as a group, consider thinking of creative group costumes to coordinate.

Attending a festival this size can be overwhelming and if you don’t plan ahead, take care of yourself and your campmates, you may find yourself missing out on late night headliners you paid to see. Bring plenty of water, extra chairs to have a place for your new friends to sit at, and check in on your friends often. This year’s line up attracts a variety of music fans from EDM to Bluegrass to Rap to Jambands to World Fusion respecting each other’s space as much as their own. Getting lost is as easy as being found and marking your campsite can help you find your way back home from late night sets at 4am.

The weekend is perfect for a group getaway, from reuniting with your family and friends to making this a girls weekend to remember, there are endless possibilities for you to manifest the weekend in your favor but it does help thinking about what you might need so you don’t actually turn into a zombie half way through. The Jamwich has previously touched on moderating yourself at a festival and not exhausting yourself in the first 48 hours you’re there. Overstimulation and dehydration is the perfect formula for tagging out early and missing out on most of the music you want to see. Keeping a reusable water bottle or cup on you can help you remember to keep yourself and even your friends hydrated.

Keep your eyes and ears open for what could be planned and spontaneously brought to life throughout the weekend. Spirit Lake is the best place to relax and unwind during the early hours of the morning. Seeing 3D lights rising from the lake to fire breathing elephants, fire performers, aerialist swinging amidst the trees gives you a feeling of being on another planet altogether. You won’t want to miss the spectacular adventures that await you at Suwannee Hulaween 2017. Tickets are still available, so grab yours today and join the one of a kind Halloween party that will leave a lasting impression on your days to come.
