Announcing the 2nd Annual Furry Friends Festival!

A music and arts festival to benefit local animal charities
 
On Saturday, November 5, 2016, the 2nd Annual Furry Friends Festival will be held at the Shakori Hills festival site in Pittsboro, NC to raise money and awareness for numerous local animal rescue and rehabilitation charities. From 11am to 2am a wide variety of first-rate rock, bluegrass, folk, country and electronic acts will perform.
 
Musical acts include BIG Something, the Cyril Lance Friendship Arkestra, Fireside Collective, Crooked Smile Band String Trio, Triple Fret, Gasoline Stove and deelin ded. John Saylor is the MC and DJ Red Spinach will be spinning tunes. Fire spinners will light up the night as aerial silk performers, hula hoopers, sideshow freaks and more circus artists exhibit their amazing skills. There will be food vendors with delicious vegetarian and vegan options, arts and crafts vendors, a photo booth, and a silent auction with a variety of great items.
 
The beneficiaries of the 2016 festival are four animal-related charities in Chatham, Orange, and Wake counties dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, cats, wildlife, farm animals and exotic animals. Beneficiaries include All Breed Animal Rescue of the Carolinas (ABARC), Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE), CLAWS, and Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. Adoptable animals will be at the festival for people to meet.
 
“We’re honored to have this amazing collection of musicians and circus performers banding together to aid these wonderful animal charities.,” says festival co-producer Kevin M. James. “We’re excited to grow the festival in its second year to a new level of fun for all who attend.”
 
Tickets are $20 early bird, $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free, and all tickets include free parking and overnight camping. More information is available at www.furryfriendsfestival.com.
