The fifth annual Domefest returns to Sunshine Daydream Memorial Park in Terra Alta, WV – beautiful rolling hills, wooded camping areas, a new outdoor main stage, and of course, the late night music barn!  We spoke with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong front man and mastermind Jeremy Schon about the annual shindig and the return of great friends and family vibes!

> Why did you decide to start doing Domefest?

It started as a one-night mini-festival just outside of the University
of Maryland (where we went to college). Me and my friend Ben Curwin
decided to give it a try once we found the original property (The
Domes of Beltsville). That first year of Domefest was the best day of
my life.  It’s incredible to walk around and see all your friends
smiling and having the times of their lives – makes it all worth it
every year.

> How do you choose the bands on your lineup?

We pick our favorite bands that we meet on the road traveling with
Pigeons. They are all rapidly moving up on the scene and it’s great to
have them as friends.

What is a band you booked this year for the first time that you are
excited about?

Twiddle and Turkuaz.  They’re killing it. I’m also very excited to
have Yellow Dubmarine finally on the bill, I’ve wanted to book them
since the very first Domefest.

> What band(s) do you continue to ask to come back and why?

We love supporting our family of bands. This is Deaf Scene’s 4th year
in a row, Shack Bands 3rd year, and the 2nd year for The Mantras, BIG
Something, Tauk, Fletcher’s Grove and The Hornitz.  We bring them back
year after year because they continue to get better and better, always
deliver a fantastic show, and they are awesome people!

> What is the funniest Domefest memory you can think of?

The naked guy from the first Domefest…

> Do you have any surprises for your attendees this year?

Of course, but I won’t tell you anything more…

> Where can we buy tickets and how much do they cost?

Tickets are available online at www.missiontix.com/domefest for $50 GA
and $125 VIP. Gate price goes up to $60 for GA, so get yours soon!
