 Did you ever drink moonshine222107_554335350541_4171813_n
In tin cups like cheap wine,
And listened to guitars in the wind?
With bright-eyed mountain girls
(Beer breath and soft curls)
Sweeter than home made sin?
Did you ever smoke homegrown
Crystalline full blown
Nuggets of silver and green?
Or simmer some shroom tea,
Drank it and flown free
Inside, to things you’ve never seen.
Did you ever see starlight
Above you so damn bright
It seems closer than the moon?
Or watched the sun falling
As night birds are calling
For you to play their favorite tune?
There’s a fog in the trees
In the night and the breeze
Brings a mist that helps the harvest grow.
And there’s something in 72169_536388590991_5293565_nthe water
For West Virginia’s daughter’s
Beauty is greater than you know.
Did you ever hear bands play
So intense the relay
Of synapse is widened in your brain?
Well take care on that road
As you shoulder your load
For you know there are so few now that remain.
But you’ll meet some new friends
Back from where time begins
You will swear you’ve known in bygone days.
So will you turn it down,
All this magic and sound?
Come and drown in sunny summer rays.
Yes, come on and get out,
Put up or shut up.
Come in and freak out
Sit down and smoke up
Show up and get down554787_10150778235791816_2005078360_n
From moon rise ’till sun up,
Dance back and spin ’round my friend–
It’s a West Virginia Weekend…..
It’s a West Virginia Weekend.
