Second Annual Rock the Blocks Music & Arts Festival  RTB LINE UP 2013

Blacksburg, VA, March 22, 2013:  The second annual Rock the Blocks Music & Arts Festival is on track to be the biggest music weekend of the year.  For one weekend, more than 50 bands and DJs will perform in 459499_568576529826165_1639595225_oeight venues across downtown Blacksburg. In addition to music, there will also be visual art displays, craft vendors and workshops.  Rock the Blocks encourages people from Blacksburg, Virginia Tech, and surrounding communities to come celebrate live music and arts.

All-access festival wristbands can be purchased online now:

  • Presale – $30 (ends March 21)
  • Day Of – $35 available at Festival HQ: CAIO Office 149 College Avenue (See office hours below)

 

All wristbands can be picked up at the Community Arts and Information Office located at 149 College Avenue.

The wristband pick up schedule is:

  • March 22: 4-9PM
  • March 23: 12PM-9PM

 

Wristbands grant entrance to all venues and showcases throughout the weekend.  Individual showcase tickets can be bought at the door of each venue both nights.  Some age restrictions apply.

The festival will feature a multitude of genres such as rock, folk, electronic 243344_568576526492832_88214819_odance music, metal, reggae and others.  It brings underground artists into the spotlight, and encourages networking with regional, national and international touring artists such as Segway, Toy Soldiers, and Shasha Marley.
Artists will perform at  locations such as Sycamore Deli, Gillie’s, and Ceritano’s Ristorante.
Artwork will also be on display at XYZ Gallery and outside murals are scheduled to be painted by local artists at various locations in town—weather permitting.
With more than 2,000 in attendance at Rock the Blocks 2012 and increased marketing and awareness, this year’s festival is expected to surpass that number.
